Fun in the dark with LIGHT

I know this post is really late and I am going to do my best to remember everything we did.  It was such a fun day at preschool.  We were able to learn about the letter L!  We started out in a dark room and we were able to use fun flashlights for the LIGHT!

Here we are seeing whooo whooo is here today.

(The lights are still off in the following pictures. I am just using my flash so I could tell what I was taking pictures of.)
Lexi is trying to find her owl to put it on the branch.  It was tricky in the dark, but so much fun!

Calendar time with Jerry

Lydia was the spotlight.  Here she is holding up her baby picture.

Singing the alphabet song with Levi.

Everyone used their flashlight to try and find letters that were on the wall.

Now for a fun story with ZeeZee.
Miss Jenni read us a book about a cat named Oscar and a moth that was teaching him about LIGHT and dark.

ZeeZee was shining the light on the story so Mrs. Jenni could see.

Mrs. Jenni taught us about the sun and the earth.  She shined a light on the globe to show us how when half of the earth is light the other half is dark.  There was a star sticker on Texas, and we watched as the globe was spun slowly. The light was like the sun shining. And when the "sun" was not shining on Texas, we would pretend we were snoring because it would be night time. And once the globe turned and Texas was back in the light, we would raise our hands in the air because it was day time!

We also learned all about shadows.  We made small shadows...

 big shadows

and really big shadows.

We came back to a room with lights and learned about light shining through a prism.

When light shines through the prism it makes a rainbow!

We all took turns making a rainbow with the prism!

Mrs. Jenni taught us about the colors of a rainbow.

We learned the different colors that can be made when light is bent just right!

 Snack time! Yummy!

Playtime!!

Thanks Mrs. Jenni for another fun day at preschool!
