Quite a fun day with Letter Q!

We had a fun time with Letter Q today!

All set up for fun!

Miss Danell was an awesome helper and taught us how to blow a bubble up holding hands to make a circle!

The kids loved it!

We went over our rules during Circle Time and realized that QUIET starts with Q.

We practiced being super loud, and then whispering and being Quiet. The kids loved it.

We also talked about our flag and the history of America, how we didn't want to have a King or a Queen, so we started our new country!

We sang a song about the letter Q, which talked about fun things that started with our letter.

Queen, Quail, Quack and more!

Sorry it's upside down! It's to the tune Twinkle Twinkle and the kids loved it!

We talked about the shape of the Q, and the word QUICK.

We had each child take a turn with the car, going around our Q track slowly, and then we yelled, Quick! And they had to go around as fast as they could!

Then we sang the "5 Little Ducks" song and talked about Quacking!

They loved yelling QUACK QUACK QUACK extra loud!

We took a turn drawing a letter Q next to our name.

And then we took a turn being a Queen!! (or King)

We introduced the idea of Questions and Question marks, and asked the Queen a question!

We raised our hands, and they loved it.

Some questions started with WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, or WHY.

Then it was time to talk about Quarters!

We learned that Quarters are worth more than pennies.

All the kids went into the other room to look for grocery store items.

They talked about shopping with their family and how it takes money to buy things.

Each item had a tag with either 25c. or 1c. written on it.

Then the child came to the front and told us if their ice cream, cereal, or whatever needs a penny or a quarter.

They typed it into the cash register, and thought that was cool!

Then it was time to paint with Q tips!

We tried tracing our letter Qs and then counted dots into each square for the right number.

This was good practice, and most of them did better than I thought!

Then it was time to free paint their Q, and they liked that too!

They liked the Q tips!
Then...snack time!

At the end of snack time we read about Little Quack and how he played hide and seek with his family.

Some of the kids played hide and seek outside!

It was a nice day to play on the playground!

Some worked on the puzzle to see how far we've come in preschool!

Then we took a few kids aside for their QUIZ!

We had them circle the items that start with Q...they  learned a lot!

A fun day!
